Text Walkthrough:

Welcome to level 7. More good news here for two reasons. One reason is that in this level you're going to unlock about a quarter of the achievements in the game here most likely. The second reason ties into the first reason. During my playthrough, I unlocked the achievements Heavy Lifting, which is carry objects for 100m, and Traveller, which is travel 10km. If you got these already, congrats! If you don't get them here, you'll most likely unlock them in the second level.

Now another achievement we can knock off the bat. Turn your camera so you're facing the water. Walk into the water so your head goes under water and you'll start hearing a slow bubble or popping sound. What you need to do is count these sounds. Once you get to 16, immediately run and jump out of the water as you'll die once you hit 18 pops. If you do this successfully, you'll unlock:
Breathing exercise in Human Fall Flat
Breathing exercise 41 (20)
In "Water", get out of the water in 100ms to avoid drowning
  • Unlocked by 6,994 tracked gamers (23% - TA Ratio = 2.07)29,964
Now turn back in the water and this time let yourself drown. Repeat this 9 more times to unlock:
Learn to swim in Human Fall Flat
Learn to swim 30 (20)
Drown 10 times
  • Unlocked by 13,357 tracked gamers (45% - TA Ratio = 1.49)29,964
Now we can move onto the real level. Walk towards the rowboat and jump on in. When I first did this I thought controlling this thing was horrible, but I figured it out. Grab the left oar with your left arm and the right oar with your right arm. Move the right stick only and the boat should turn and face the way you're facing. So make sure you're facing the rock tunnel in the distance. Now you need to move the right and left sticks straight down to lift the oars out of the water and straight up to displace the water and start moving. It is important you go straight up and straight down with both the left and right stick at the same time, otherwise you'll start to mess up. Use the video walkthrough if you're struggling. Get in a good rhythm and row row row your boat all the way to the tanker in the distance. If you have to turn or readjust, stop rowing and move the camera to the direction you want to go. Once you reach the tanker, you'll unlock:
Row, row, row your boat in Human Fall Flat
Row, row, row your boat 49 (20)
Use the row boat to get to the cargo ship in "Water"
  • Unlocked by 5,046 tracked gamers (17% - TA Ratio = 2.43)29,964
Now hop off your boat, across the wooden platforms and onto the tanker. Climb up until you reach the control deck so to speak. In here, there will be two levers. The next miscellaneous achievement we will be going for requires us to reverse this tanker into its dock. Now even after playing around with them for a bit I wasn't entirely sure which did what, so I'm going to explain what I did to control it. While facing out the window of the control deck, I pushed the lever on the left all the way forward and left it, then I pulled the lever on the right backwards and the boat started turning to the right. I let it turn until the front of the boat was lined up in between the red and green buoys. Once you're lined up with this, I pushed the right lever all the way forward and drove the tanker forward until you could no longer see the last green buoy on the left hand side. I then pulled the lever on the right back all the way and let the boat turn until its rear was lined up with the canal in between the docks. Once it was lined up, I put the lever on the right back in its starting position in the middle and pulled the lever on the left back to put the tanker in reverse. Then I let go of the left lever and turned around to face the rear of the boat and grabbed the right lever. I watched it back into the docking area and made adjustments to the positioning with the right hand lever. Once it's in, let it reverse until it can't go anymore and you'll unlock:
Reverse gear in Human Fall Flat
Reverse gear 55 (20)
Enter the dock with the ship backwards in "Water"
  • Unlocked by 4,036 tracked gamers (13% - TA Ratio = 2.72)29,964
If you're struggling make sure you watch the video walkthrough as it should help and give a better idea. You can also grind out an achievement for travelling 1km with boats. Now I wouldn't suggest it simply because you have to play this level again, but you can check your progress tracker and see how close you are. Simply drive the tanker forward as far as it can go, then backwards. Eventually, you'll unlock:
Sail away! in Human Fall Flat
Sail away! 54 (30)
Use any of the boats to travel 1km
  • Unlocked by 9,388 tracked gamers (31% - TA Ratio = 1.78)29,964
Now once you're docked, you'll notice to your left (while facing the rear of the boat), there is a platform you can jump to from the control deck. Jump out the window of the control deck and climb up and over the platform here and you'll be in the next area. Walk around here to the right and you'll see two platforms above a river. Jump across to the first one and then the second one. While you're on the second one you'll notice there are metal poles to your left. You can actually squeeze through these so do so. Over here, pull open the red gate and start throwing the boxes into the water on the left. Once these four are done, cross the platform here and throw the two boxes on the other side in as well. Wait until they all stop moving, then jump to the closest one and walk (or crawl) your way across them to get to the next area.
Now I did this next area fine through my first playthrough, but I struggled with it after. You'll see a platform in the water chained up. What you need to do is jump on this platform and lift the chain off its little nub. This will set the platform in motion. You'll also see a chain suspended above you. You need to go to the front of the platform and, when you're close enough, jump up and grab onto the chain to pull it down. Then you need to quickly hook the chain to the boat to stop it. Once you've done this, you'll notice immediately to your left after the chain is a platform. Jump to this and you'll see another boat here, but with no chain in sight. This is what makes this part annoying. You need to control this boat the same way you controlled the box cars in earlier levels. I would highly suggest watching the video walkthrough for this, but I'll do my best to explain it in text. So jump on to the platform and walk towards the blue pipe furthest to the right. Grab onto it and try to push the boat out of it's little crevasse while also trying to direct the boat to the tree blue pipes in front and do the right of you. Once it starts floating over there, you'll notice it floats by a platform on your left that has a box sitting above it. While it's floating by, you need to very quickly jump on this platform and grab the box. Wait until the floating platform is below you, and jump onto it with the box and drop the box on the area where the door is. Now comes the tricky part. You need to turn the floating platform so it makes a path for you to hop across it to the platform with the button on it with the box. You also have to make sure it doesn't float away. So get to the very front of it and try turning it until it makes a path and starts floating. Immediately jump and grab the box, then hustle with the box over to the other platform and drop the box on the button, then try and book it back across to the platform with the door on it. If your platform floats away not to worry, the box will stay on the button but you'll have to get back there again. Head through the door and into the next area.
Now in the next area you'll see the skeleton of a ship and a boat with an oar. We are absolutely not going to try and paddle the boat with one oar (it was hard enough with two imo, but be my guest if you want to. Instead, we're going to platform our way across. Jump up to the left side of the skeleton and parkour your way across the broken parts of wood until you get to the front of the ship. Here you'll see two planks sticking out of the ground. Climb up the one that is sticking up pointing to the front of the ship, and once at the top, jump and grab the front of the ship. Walk across the nose(?) of the ship and drop down into the next area.
Now here you'll see a metal pole with like a stub on one end and a raft in the distance. Grab the pole on the side that doesn't have the stub as far down as you can. Lift it up and place the end with the stub in the raft in the distance to hook it. Once it's hooked, drag it over, toss the pole, and hop in and ride it to the next platform. Over here, your progress will be impeded and you'll end up on a platform with some rocks. Pick up rocks and throw them into the raft, which will cause it to sink. When it sinks enough (usually 4-5 rocks), it will travel under the platform you're on and float to the other side. Once it's on the other side, hop in and start throwing the rocks out to raise it up, and once it's high enough, jump up to the platform on your right. From here, jump towards the chain and use it to swing across to the other platform where you'll find a lever. Push the lever all the way down to bring the cable car down. Once it's down as far to the left as it can go, push the lever to the right and immediately run and jump inside the cable car and ride it up to the next area.
Once up here, we're going to go for two achievements, one of which is technically "missable" because if you mess up, you have to start the level over again. First thing's first, once you're at the top, nearby there should be a chain attached to a fence. Attach this to the cable car and then hit the lever up here to send it back down, opening the fence in front of you. Now turn around and face the lighthouse, as that's our next destination. Walk past the orange raft which we're going to need in a second SO DON"T TOUCH IT or you'll hate yourself. Now you need to carefully traverse down the mountain to reach the lighthouse. To ensure you don't fall off, always be holding left and right triggers. That way if you end up going to fast you'll save yourself. Once you safely get down, walk inside the lighthouse and up the massive staircase inside. Once you're at the top, there will be a lever here. Push it and the light will come on, unlocking:
Beacon in Human Fall Flat
Beacon 56 (20)
Light up the lighthouse in "Water"
  • Unlocked by 3,766 tracked gamers (13% - TA Ratio = 2.82)29,964
Once you've gotten the achievement, simply jump into the water and you'll drown and respawn by the cable car. Now we're going to go after one of the harder achievements in the game. For this, you need to ride the orange mattress down the waterfall without getting wet. What I did for this was push it into the water, then stand right in the middle and grab the middle with both arms. I tried to control it when I had it grabbed by moving left and right, but even doing this it's still tough. Try watching the video guide if it helps more. In this video guide I actually earned the achievement, so try and follow it as best you can. Essentially I just rode down and help on for dear life, and once I got to the bottom, unlocked:
Surfer in Human Fall Flat
Surfer 80 (30)
Don't get wet while surfing down the mountain in "Water"
  • Unlocked by 4,258 tracked gamers (14% - TA Ratio = 2.65)29,964
Now with that out of the way, we can finish the level. You'll notice the water wheel is now turning, so when one of the blades comes towards you, jump and grab onto it and lift yourself up so you're standing on it. You'll notice there is the tiniest platform on the side of the blade you're standing on, so ensure you're hugging the side of the blade so you're standing on that tiny platform when the blade starts to go vertical. Once the blade is at the top by the massive platform with the diving board, jump over to it and pull yourself up. If you're struggling with this you can definitely use the cheese method to get up here. Once up here, push the switch and you'll open the exit, which is off in the distance. Head to the end of the diving board and jump off and you'll land very close to the exit.
Now here you need to be very careful if you want one more achievement. From where you land, carefully drop down to one of the metal grates just above the exit. Stand as close to the edge as you possibly can and look straight down. Once you're as close to the edge as you can get and are looking down, press cn_X to collapse your body. This should result in you going in head first and unlocking:
Head First in Human Fall Flat
Head First 63 (20)
Complete "Water" diving head-first
  • Unlocked by 2,985 tracked gamers (10% - TA Ratio = 3.17)29,964
If you don't get it this attempt, keep trying. You'll be rewarded for you efforts regardless however, because if you don't go in head first, you'll get:
Feet First in Human Fall Flat
Feet First 37 (20)
Complete "Water" diving feet-first
  • Unlocked by 8,546 tracked gamers (29% - TA Ratio = 1.87)29,964

Now we will head on to the second last level of the game.
